- POSITION SUMMARY:
The Case Management Officer is the first point of contact for individuals/ Survivors who are willing to document their cases or seeking to be referred to service centres.
The duties of the Case Management Officer primarily involve conducting comprehensive risk and needs-based assessment interviews by telephone or, occasionally, face-to-face and the onward referral of potential victims to appropriate documentation services.
- RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
- Develop and maintain an updated waiting list of torture and detention survivors who wish to document their cases. This involves communication with first responders, documenters, LDHR’s partners, and LDHR’s network.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between survivors and LDHR’s documenters. Provide survivors with an orientation about LDHR’s scope of work and facilitate documentation sessions.
- Collect feedback from both documenters and survivors after completing the documentation process and record it in the feedback tracker.
- Ensure the case tracker is updated on a daily basis to reflect the current status of cases.
- Assist in compiling the monthly report by providing relevant inputs.
- Coordinate with the Quality Assurance Committee (QAC) and survivors to prepare for case clinics.
- Receive feedback from survivors after the completion of case clinics, record it in the case tracker, and compile a comprehensive feedback report.
- Identify potential service providers to be vetted from various sources such as first responders, documenters, LDHR’s partners, and LDHR’s network.
- Lead the vetting process of service providers and establish Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with all approved centres in Turkey and Syria.
- Maintain the vetting tracker on a daily basis, ensuring it includes information on all vetted centers.
- Oversee the referral process for survivors in need of services, documenting all referral details in the referral tracker.
- Conduct spot checks by gathering feedback from select survivors regarding the services received from the centre. Consolidate the feedback into a single document and submit it to the Programs Manager.
- Receive and document final reports from service providers who have delivered services to referred survivors, as applicable.
- Assist with administrative duties, including filing, scanning, copying, and mailing.
- Ensure timely archiving of all relevant documents.
- Assist in preparing and drafting periodic reports, incorporating data and information related to case management activities.
- Collaborate closely with partner organizations to accomplish the aforementioned tasks when necessary.
- Contribute to regularly collecting, producing, and sharing monthly lessons learned. Coordinate this effort with all relevant program departments.
- Attend protection cluster meetings and any other cluster meetings assigned by the Programs Manager.
- REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND ATTRIBUTES:
This position demands a dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve results in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Health, Development, or social science or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Work Experience: Minimum of three years experience, preferably in an INGO/ NGO, in a similar role/with similar responsibilities.
- Language Skills: Fluency in Arabic, English (written & spoken) are ESSENTIAL; Turkish is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge and experience with international development programming.
- Effective team player, able to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
- Flexible, creative, and problem-solving-oriented.
- Competence with MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Proven skills ineffective coordination, mentorship, and working in a multi-stakeholder collaborative environment.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and in high-pressure situations whilst maintaining a calm and positive attitude.
- Legally to work in Turkey (Applications with Turkish citizenship will be Considered).
